Philanthropy for Indigenous Rights
Our Mission
Strengthen Indigenous Sovereignty through Unencumbered Capital: We move significant, flexible, long-term capital in solidarity with Indigenous communities to strengthen sovereignty, leadership, and self-determination. We purposefully shift the dynamic where money carries power. In this space, resources honor and follow leadership.
Our Vision
Transform How Philanthropy Works: Support Indigenous wisdom and ways to sustain the earth. We move funding directly to Indigenous communities, working in solidarity to strengthen sovereignty and self-determination. We demonstrate that $100 million can move in solidarity—for the good of Indigenous Peoples and the world.
Our Approach
Three Tracks, One Platform: The Compass strengthens Indigenous leadership and decision-making; The Journey cultivates relationships among philanthropists and Indigenous leaders, building a sense of mutual accountability; The Pathway creates operational capacity for capital to move at scale, with integrity.

Mobilizing Philanthropy for Indigenous Leadership and a Sustainable Planet
Who We Bring Together
The Collective brings together Indigenous leaders whose sovereignty and experience define the work, and philanthropists with vital financial resources who act in solidarity. In this space, resources follow leadership rather than direct it. This is not partnership as usual. It is a purposeful shift of power—one that recognizes Indigenous Peoples as key decision-makers whose guardianship of land and biodiversity has proven among the most effective on Earth.
In this space, resources follow leadership—not direct it. Philanthropists enter as learners. Indigenous leaders share a vision for a flourishing world rooted in ancestral knowledge. The work moves at the pace of trust. By bringing these groups together in a relational space defined by shared values, The Collective creates conditions for capital to move in ways that reinforce sovereignty and self-determination, as well as support durable outcomes for climate, land rights, and cultural continuity that benefit us all.
